1. DEFINING NEWS
For most people when they think of news, the first thing to come to mind might be a major newscasting company (like Fox or CNN) or maybe even a local newspaper. While these things are certainly news, they aren’t the only media that is used to spread information in today’s society. Instead of seeing newspapers being commonly thrown at one’s front door or seeing people walk around reading a newspaper, we are acknowledging a rapid increase in technology being used for news.
Now, newspapers have websites that people can visit, and we see more people walking around on their phones or laptops reading the news. While this is very different than the past, it is important for news to be able to evolve at the same rate that our technology is steadily advancing. News and the making of news are not things that can be stagnant. In order to keep up with the changing society, news forms must find new ways to get the important stories out to the people.

I believe that news is any new information or updates that is given to people. News can come from everywhere: The Internet, television, magazines or newspapers, and even by word of mouth. One reason that news does not go out of style is because it is often told in a million different perspectives. Journalists take a piece of news, make a judgement about it, and then pass that judgement on to the people around them and even to people all over the world. This leads to another problem, that being fake news. While real and important news is becoming easier to access, so is fake news that is so easy to believe. This is why, no matter where you get your news from, it is so important to fact check and make sure that the news you are getting is true and accurate.
