         JACOB BLAKE: Victim of Police Violence        On Sunday, August 23, 29-year-old Jacob Blake was shot by policemen in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Blake's family attorney reported that Jacob was "breaking up a fight between two women" before walking away back towards his car that was parked on the street. In the graphic video showing the shooting, Blake is seen to be followed closely by policemen before being shot in the back seven times while leaning into his car. Jacob’s three children – ages 3, 5, and 8 – were in the vehicle when their father was shot. 1. DEFINING NEWS

              For most people when they think of news, the first thing to come to mind might be a major newscasting company (like Fox or CNN) or maybe even a local newspaper. While these things are certainly news, they aren’t the only media that is used to spread information in today’s society. Instead of seeing newspapers being commonly thrown at one’s front door or seeing people walk around reading a newspaper, we are ackn owled ging a rapid increase in technology being used for news.            Now, newspapers have websites that people can visit, and we see more people walking around on their phones or laptops reading the news. While this is very different than the past, it is important for news to be able to evolve at the same rate that our technology is steadily advancing.
